One of our customers Ritchie was recently mentioned on Fox News and they talk about how they use ecomate as their eco-friendly polyurethane foam solution.

What is Rotomolding?

Foam insulation in rotomolded products acts as a thermal barrier, essential for industries needing temperature-controlled environments. Rotomolding seamlessly integrates foam insulation within plastic walls, significantly boosting thermal performance. The foam fills voids, minimizing temperature fluctuation, and is easily integrated in the rotomolding process. This synergy creates highly insulated products, meeting the demands of thermal regulation across various applications.

Polyurethane systems for Rotomold foam insulation

At FSI, we’ve helped rotomolding manufacturers build systems for 50 years. From our Slug pro foam dispensing gun, to our vast line of customized polyurethane solutions, we’re here to help you succeed. With 47 dedicated field staff, holding a combined 846 years of experience in Polyurethane systems, we’re trusted globally to get production going and keep it moving. While you’re developing your rotomold tooling process, we partner together to find the best injection points and ensure even distribution of foam throughout your product.

Why are some Rotomold products filled with foam while others aren’t?

The decision to fill rotomolded products with foam or leave them hollow depends on the specific needs of the application the product is intended for. While foam-filled rotomolded products offer enhanced insulation, rigidity, and strength, they may entail a more complex design and manufacturing process, potentially driving up costs. Hence, products that do not require these enhanced properties might opt for a hollow design to remain cost-effective and meet the demands of their intended applications.
