Ecomate® is an ideal blowing agent for use in the production of extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board. In addition to its environmental benefits — no global warming, no ozone depletion and no smog production — ecomate® is proven to increase the thermal efficiency of XPS board.

As it does in polyurethane systems, ecomate® can help XPS producers comply with the Montreal Protocol in countries mandating the phase-out of HCFCs like 141b.

Ecofoam® is a rigid polyurethane foam used for manufacturing a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential products – everything ranging from appliances and foodservice equipment to building panels, entry and garage doors, HVAC equipment and more. Ecofoam® offers best-in-class insulation performance, plus other valuable properties, without a negative impact to our environment.

Superior Thermal Efficiency and Performance

Polyurethane foams offer excellent insulation value – far superior to traditional materials like cellulose, mineral wool and fiberglass, but also superior to EPS and XPS boardstock. Ecofoam takes polyurethane to the next level, due to our patented ecomate® blowing agent technology, which provides R-values greater than commonly used blowing agents such as hydrocarbons (HCs) and hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs). What’s more, ecofoam also offers excellent structural enhancement, sound abatement, moisture control and other properties.

Environmentally Responsible

Our ecomate blowing agent technology is unmatched in preserving our environment. Ecomate has been US EPA SNAP compliant since 2003 and in commercial use since that time. Ecomate technology has proven superior to products made with CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs. Thanks to ecomate, ecofoam does not contribute to global warming, ozone depletion or smog production.
