Foodservice Equipment

Users of foodservice equipment rely on lightweight, high-performance Ecofoam® pour-in-place foam for superior temperature maintenance that reduces energy use and meets DOE mandates and NSF criteria.

Food Grade Insulation panels

Proven performance in foodservice equipment

Commercial refrigeration products made with Ecofoam® ensure fresh inventory by providing excellent lifetime insulation with measured R-values up to 8.2 at 1” thickness and high performance down to -121oF. It provides manufacturers a reliable alternative to HFC insulation.

Ecofoam® pour-in-place foam demonstrates excellent adhesion to metal substrates, contributing to lifetime structural integrity of the product in demanding foodservice applications.

Improved flowability of Ecofoam® technology compared to HFC systems leads to a more uniform in-place density and excellent dimensional stability. Its rapid cure time reduces overall cycle time. Wide processing latitudes enable manufacturers to potentially use one foam system for multiple models, eliminating changeover downtime and boosting production output.

For UL-labeled units with internal wiring, Ecofoam® meets UL94 HF-1 flame rating criteria.

Ecofoam® meets NSF runtime reporting benchmarks, enabling products to exceed FDA food safety mandates.

Ecofoam® is expanded with Ecomate®, a zero-GWP blowing agent meeting the most stringent environmental regulations, including California SB1013. It does not require Prop 65 labeling.

Ecomate® blowing agent technology guarantees a more streamlined transition from HFC systems than other fourth-generation blowing agents. No permits are needed for operating with Ecofoam®; compared to pentane systems, no explosion proofing is required.

FSI’s global production and distribution network offers flexible delivery in totes, drums, pressurized cylinders or in bulk according to your needs.

Unmatched Regulatory Compliance

Because it is environmentally benign, Ecomate complies with all current — and most likely all future — regulations pertaining to foam blowing agents. As additional HFCs and other harmful materials are phased out, Ecomate will continue to be the reliable and affordable solution for foam blowing applications. Current regulatory compliance includes:

  • U.S EPA SNAP Program
  • Montreal Protocol
  • Kyoto Protocol
  • Kyoto ROHS Protocol (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
  • WEEE Directed (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
  • GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe)
  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization)
  • EPA SNAP Approved
